Air Mouse: a marketer's phone-as-mouse idea, shipped to desktop and mobile
A marketing agent in the UK wanted to control their computer from their phone. We turned the idea into Air Mouse: a phone app that works as a touchpad, a point-and-turn air mouse, and a keyboard, paired with a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

The nebula
Where it started.
- The phone could not move the computer's pointer or type on it.
- Nothing paired the phone with the computer, so any device on the network could have sent input.
- No desktop installers and no Android download for others to try it.
- No website explaining the app or where to get it.
What we did
Into orbit, step by step.
Scan
Mapped how it would be used at a desk, in a meeting room or on the sofa: moving the pointer, clicking, scrolling, typing and one-tap shortcuts, on Wi-Fi or with no network at all.
Merge
Built the phone app with touchpad, air mouse and keyboard modes, and a desktop app that moves the pointer and types. Pairing uses a 6-digit code or QR code, and every movement message is signed.
Launch
Added Bluetooth for when there is no Wi-Fi, set up a release pipeline that builds Mac, Windows and Linux installers and the Android app for every version, and put the download site live.
Orbit
Live at airmouse.cosmerg.com. Each new version is one tag away, and the site always offers the latest downloads.
