JanReport: proof of every cleaning visit, from check-in to client report
A Canadian commercial cleaning business needed to prove its work to clients without spreadsheets and phone calls. We built JanReport: an operations platform with GPS-verified check-ins, checklists, inspections, a client portal, and branded PDF reports, now running for multiple cleaning companies.

The spark
The idea.
- Cleaning visits were tracked in spreadsheets and group chats, with no proof a site was actually serviced.
- Clients phoned the office to ask whether work was done, and issues were lost between visits.
- Recurring schedules for every site had to be planned by hand, week after week.
- Reports for clients took hours to put together and looked different every time.
What we did
Into orbit, step by step.
Map
Mapped the service loop end to end: office scheduling, cleaner visits, supervisor inspections, and what clients need to see.
Build
Built an admin panel, an installable cleaner app with GPS check-in against a geofence for each site, checklists with photos, and inspections that turn problems into tracked tickets.
Launch
Added a client portal and branded PDF reports, recurring schedules generated automatically every night, and push notifications. Deployed with CI/CD, staging, a firewall, and daily database backups.
Orbit
Made it multi-tenant: each cleaning company gets its own subdomain, branding, and time zone, with data isolated in the database by row-level security.
